There is no 'US' really.  It's just 'me'...
 
Having owned sportscars for many years, I'd always dreamed about following in my dad's footsteps...see I grew up with Competition Press and then Auto-Week laying around the house, along with old pictures of my dad's mini-coopers, VW bug racecars, bugeye Sprites, a morris-minor (which he called the Blue-Foo) and a 356 Cabriolet. 

One of my mother and father's first dates was at Lime Rock, where my dad raced his mini and my mom flagged.  So I guess you could say this is somehow in my blood.

So to fast-forward, I got my first Porsche not long after marrying my wonderful and very understanding wife. That was close to 10 years ago and that's when I joined PCA. 

After getting their great publications (both the national magazine and the regional magazine) for several years...and trading up to a 1991 944S2 from my old 1984 944NA, I made the "WTF" decision to try my hand at DE.

I should mention that there was also some inspiration from a friends of ours (thank you T & S !) who are avid PCA club-racers.

And so it began...........

In January of 2008, I attended my region's 'mid-winter track event' which is aimed at allowing prospective DE participants know what they could expect if they made the decision to participate.  The people were great...there was a high level of safety involved....and it really was all about learning to drive.

I knew I was hooked!

In early April of 2008, I participated in my first PCA DE event and the rest as they say is history...I was hooked!  I wound out the year with a total of 3 DE's and a rally..which I might add, included my wife as navigator!

I had a safe, great time.  I learned how much improvement there is in my future (read this as "how much my driving needs to improve!) and I met some great people along the way.

As the 2009 season looms, I look forward to experiencing different tracks, learning more about my car and myself, involving my family in this great sport and really...HAVING FUN !
